Harness the Power of Angels!
“Be an Angel, Comfort an Angel” Program transforms lives with silky Angels.
What do you say to someone who is grieving? How do you comfort them? Elevate them? Give them a sense of hope?
I believe that Angels have the power to do this and more!
My company, Tobias & Co. LLC, has created our “Be an Angel, Comfort an Angel” Program to bring Angels into the lives of those who need it most. We donate one silk scarf, necktie, or pillow cover to a bereaved mother, father, or critically ill child for every purchased to bring them a sense of caring, connection, and comfort. These silk scarves and neckties—filled with photographs of Angels that I’ve taken around the world—have inspiring Angel quotes on either end and a secret, special message in the middle. The 16"x16" silk pillow cover has hundreds of drawings of Angels created by children for children. There are several editions of these Embrace the Angel pillow covers planned each with its own theme: Amber’s Angels, Joyful Angels, Healing Angels, etc. All child artists (18 & under) are invited to send in their Angel Art to contribute to this giving project. Here’s how:
On December 9th, we sat at the North Pole’s Welcome Table, along with Children’s Hospice International, to meet and greet critically ill children, their caregivers, and families as they begin their journey…their amazing Fantasy Flight to the “North Pole!” Deeply honored to participate, I wrapped the mothers and grandmothers in our Embrace the Angel silk scarves and gave each child a pewter Guardian Angel coin with their special word engraved on the back.
This magical tradition began in 1989 when Children’s Hospice International and United Airlines entered into a partnership to develop the “Fantasy Flight to the North Pole” to take children with life-threatening conditions and their families on a magical journey in a special plane to the land of Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, elves, princesses, storybook friends and TV characters, toys, treats, and everything that each child dreams of at Christmas time.
More about me, how I came to be chosen, my loving Life Task, and how I serve those who need it most—bereaved parents and critically ill children:
Born in the Queen of Angels Hospital in the City of Angels, Los Angeles, California, my Life Purpose and Life Task unfolded slowly and was revealed to me on October 30, 1980, the moment my 4-year-old daughter, Amber, died. It was my 27th birthday. When she crossed The Threshold between life and death, I physically felt God. I physically felt the Power of Angels! Had I not documented her life and her death, I probably would’ve let this miracle slip into history, but I didn’t. I captured it on audio tape and transcribed it in her book, Embrace the Angel, available as a free eBook on our website: www.embracetheangel.com
In the four and a half years that Amber was on earth, she lived an incredible life; one of shining service to others; one of imparting wise and wonderful insights into this human life and beyond. As Bernie Siegel, MD, commented after tending to Amber in her last days: “She is like a wise old woman in a little girl’s body.” From the moment she arrived, I knew this to be true. She was sent to teach us about “hope, heaven, and the miracle of life and death.”
One of the most miraculous revelations was the answer to the question: “What happens when we die?” With a calm knowing she told me, “Mom, when I die, I’ll still be Amber, I’ll just be different.” So, you see, I didn’t “lose a daughter;” she didn’t “pass away;” she simply changed. She is with me now as I write these words and I see her waving “Hi, Mom! I’m here!” in the Wonder of the Wagging Leaf that greets me each morning when I walk my dog, Annie, in Quiet Waters Park. I see her in the thousands of feathers that drift into my life anywhere…everywhere. I see her in the beauty of a flower…the smile of a child…the unconditional love of my dog…the images I see through the lens of my camera…the magic of life that cannot be denied.
Amber is our gift…our teacher…our Angel to learn from and cherish. As her mother, I am blessed to carry her message to the world…to serve the grieving and the dying…to share our connection to the “other side.” I do this through my company’s “Be an Angel, Comfort an Angel” global initiative, speaking and conducting positive, powerful Embrace the Angel workshops and presentations, and touching the lives of other human beings—one scarf, necktie, pillow cover, or coin at a time—as I travel my Life Path.
